Demand for country homes is up in Shropshire
01/02/21Nationally, the country house market has seen a notable boom over the last 12 months. The south west, the Cotswolds and Scotland have been highlighted as particular hot spots, with beautiful homes in coastal regions too seeing the strongest performance for a decade. This national trend is being seen closer to home too, according to our valuation team.
This month, on two consecutive days, our valuers and building surveyors carried out building surveys including market valuations on two large rural homes for prospective buyers. The first was an 18,000 sq. ft. property and the second was a former hall, comprising 17,000 sq. ft.
Sophie Wall, Senior Valuer, comments, “The country house market for properties in the price range between £350,000 and 650,000 can sometimes struggle a little as it can be a challenge to find buyers in areas of low population. Over the last year, in the light of the pandemic and corresponding changes to working patterns, demand for these larger homes in more rural settings is up.”
Our valuation team, based in our Shropshire and Staffordshire offices, continues to be busy with valuations and home buyer reports for every size of property. Contact us to find out how we can help you buying or selling a property.
